January

Home Up

I flesh out the trips a bit more.  I look into adding a day to the AZ trip so I can have an extra day available for the main trip.  I also talk about my plans with my boss, and I reserve the time near the fourth of July for the main trip.  Some of the layover days become a ½ day local stamp-collecting days.  I plan to visit our warehouse in Montreal, a friend in New Hampshire, one of my aunts in New Jersey (and get bike serviced there), an uncle in Atlanta, and a brother in Texas.  I also talk about my plans with my kids (son will be 16 by summer, daughter will be 13).  I am divorced and have them ½ of the time.  We had been taking some family vacations the last few summers, but this year we won’t.  It shouldn’t be a problem.  They have boy/girl scout camps, and they will be spending 4-5 weeks with a grandparent, also touring the country.  Total plan is for 15,484 miles, 34 days, 87 stamps, and 29 states.  I have a one spot were there is 2 stamps for the same park (Gulf Islands NS – FL and MS), and several stamps for a couple of the NHT’s.  (Note to self – do multiple stamps, even when widely separated, count as one park?)
