Daily Journal: Final day. I attack the road at 7:45, taking US-60 west to Phoenix. Then I-10 to California. I've been on these roads several times, so I think I was riding in that fog where you see the traffic around you, but you don't really know where you are. I used my sahara vest all day. It was already 104 in Phoenix, and 102 in Indio. In Redlands, I took the shortcut of CA-30 to I-210 and home. Somewhere as I was traveling along I-210 near Pasadena, it finally dawned on me that I was almost home. I was about 30 from home at that time. I made it home at 3:30. I unpacked, started looking at the piles of mail, and relaxed. Sunday, I would work my way through all of the mail and catch up on bills. I pay via the internet, using my credit union's billpay system, so I didn't worry when I was on my trip. |
